A weekend for two needn’t break the bank
Friday, February 17th, 2012Nearly every couple experiences a time when finances become a little tight. Certainly in the case of younger couples who may have just moved in together or all of the newlyweds out there who have little to spend after the big day. However, going on holiday needn’t break what little bank you may have. There are many destinations throughout the UK that offer beautiful holidays without the exorbitant prices.
For instance, one of the most amazing places one may travel to in The United Kingdom is Ireland’s Giant’s Causeway, also known as Clochán an Aifir. These beautifully fractured stepping stones into the sea are actually a multitude of interconnected basalt columns that are resultant of a volcanic eruption. Black basalt and shimmering sea beneath offer a romance that is eternal and completely free for those couples looking for a budget minded getaway.
Aside from the obvious beauty of The Causeway, there is a lovely little Irish myth to go along with it! The myth tells of an Irish warrior who fell asleep on the way to Scotland, and when he woke he found a Scottish giant on the horizon. The warrior’s wife covered him with a blanket disguising him as a baby. The giant could only imagine the size of such a big baby’s father and headed back to Scotland breaking up the coast along the way!
With so much beauty, charm, and with the help of a budget minded hotel such as cheap hotels from Travelodge, a romantic getaway is well within the grasp most couples, and Giants Causeway is a beautiful place to begin.
